My friend stated that you worked on his web site for
free. How?
This actually happens more then you think. Many customers ask for a
few hours of our time to evaluate their site to improve on navigation,
usability, design, etc... Part of our consulting services include showing you how to cut
costs. Many smaller sites are using $35+ per month hosting, which is
usually much more then they need. We recommend professional hosting
companies in the $5 to $15 per month range for these smaller sites. You
can save $30 per month or $360 per year on hosting. Our bill for the site
evaluation and consulting for your friend came to less then $360, so it ended up costing your
friend zero for our services. They actually will be making money in the
long run.
Do I need a web site?
The odds are that the answer to this question is yes. A web site can
be your most cost effective marketing tool. Just think, your products and
information available to billions of people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You can spend hundreds of dollars on a few weekly ads in a local newspaper or
spend the same amount on a web site that will be up and running 365 days a year.
How long will it take for my site to be ready?
Most sites usually are ready in 5 to 10 business days. Once we get all
of your information, we get right to work.
What are your payment terms?
For work under $400 we request full payment upfront.
We request 50% upfront and 50% at time of completion for work $400 or more. Monthly payment
plans may be available at your request. We accept checks and most major credit cards.
What is Search Engine Positioning?
You can spend thousands and have the best designed site in the world, but if
no one can find you does your site design matter? All search engines are
different and use different criteria to "rank" a web site when someone enters a
search term. There are many items that most search engines look for:
1. Meta Tags: These are the HTML tags hidden within your web page that
states your Title, Description, and Keywords relating to your web site.
2. Body Text/Relevant Content: Search engines are seeking quality web sites. The more
popular engines are checking your site for text with keywords and links on your
site related to the search word(s) used.
3. Alt Tags: These are keywords used to describe any graphics on your
web site.
There are thousands of different search engines. Some just look at your
Title Tag, some your Description and Keywords, some your text and links.
If your site has too many or not enough keywords or they are not placed
correctly on your site, you may end up with a poor ranking or get kicked off of
the search engine entirely.
What are all of the costs involved with owning a web site?
There are several things to think about when starting a web site:
1. Design- Depending on the type of site, design may be the most costly. You
want to make sure the site is visually appealing yet easy to navigate. You
do not want your customers to get lost in your site. Site design can range
from Zero (if you design it yourself) to several thousands of dollars depending
on the company you choose.
2. Domain Name- This is your web address.
3. Hosting- Cost of keeping the site available on the internet. Some
hosting companies, like have a free hosting option. They place little pop-up
ads on your site and you can not have your own unique domain. Your domain would
include hostingcompany.com/yourcompanyname. If you set-up a free account,
at your request, we will upload your newly designed web site to your
account.
Depending on how many pages, size, visitors, and use of your site, hosting costs
are usually minimal.
Almost all small businesses can run a web site on our 12.50 per month
plan.
4. Updating the Site- Will your site need to be updated frequently?
Can you update it yourself? Updating usually costs between $60 and
several hundreds of dollars a month depending on the company you choose and the
